DON'T. Save them to the hard disk and then use CD writing software to copy
them to a CD

Don't try it. You'll end up with a corrupt document and a CD full of
re-writes of the Word document temp file.

Always save to your hard disk. Use your CD software to copy the files from
there to the CD.
