Saving/opening blocked attachments...

Evan K

I receive emails with certain files attached (.php files) that entourage
blocks me from opening or saving, how do I *turn off* this "nanny" feature?
I don't need it, as I can think for myself.

I know I've turned off a similar feature in Outlook for Windows, but I'm a
bit new to Entourage.

Thanks!

I get a warning dialog that says: "Entourage has blocked potentially unsafe
attachments. For your security, Entourage does not allow you to open
potentially unsafe attachments."

It allows me to view the message itself, but does not allow me to open or
save the attached file(s).

That doesn't appear to be any dialog I've seen in Entourage 2004. You
are using Entourage 2004?

I don't ever recall seeing it either, to tell you the truth.

This is probably an Entourage 2008 feature. If you are a legitimate user you
would/should know that. Are you perhaps using a pirated copy? If so, we
don't answer questions about 2008 until it's released publicly.

We have the same problem, this time with a perfectly legitimate copy of Entourage 2008. We haven't found a way to turn off the blocking of attachments. Will you now answer the question?

this really chaps my you know what. I am a mac/pc support pro and to tell me I need to use a plist editor to allow certain blocked files is BS. ESPECIALLY SINCE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT MACS! name one exploit for OS X for any of these file types. the MAC BU is supposed to have smarter people than this, you mus have let redmond visit one day. Please remove this feature or allow easier editing of the file types.
