Saving read-only Excel files appends 'copy of' in the save as dial

Hi all

I can see an interesting bug with Office Excel 2003, where if you open a
read-only file, and then go to save it, the words 'copy of' are appended to
the original file name in the save as dialog. It is reproducable on every
machine I've visited, so I was wondering if anyone know how to disable this?
It doesn't happen in Word or Powerpoint 2003.
