sbcglobal and entourage compatability

i have gone over previous posts and so far i am turning up zeros when
it comes to a solution.
i have entourage from office X.
i opended up a sbcglobal.yahoo email account

i cannot get my mail to come into entourage.

depending on how i try to configure things i get either error 23012 or
306. connection failure or user name and password not matching.

this is very frustrating. are they simply uncompatible?

Hi Allen,

Entourage works fine with SBCGLOBAL. You might want to verify two things in
your account setup:

1. Use your full e-mail address as your user ID -- not just your
name.

2. Be sure to use the correct server names --
pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com and smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

NOTE: Be sure to turn on the bulk mail feature in your SBC account. Since
you have used your real e-mail address in the newsgroup, you will end up
getting a lot of spam. You may also want to look into the extra "account
guard" feature that lets you create extra addresses for things like this

Athena,

thanks for your help and sorry for the great delay in responding. i
altered the pop and smtp settings per your suggestion, which is
different than what i have been finding on most of the posts, and
still no luck. i get the error message 23012 ( a connection failure
occured ). it seems that everyone can do this except me. i must be
missing something. my account is a [email protected] account.
