Scanning Product into Access Database

I am trying to determine if I can use a handheld scanner to use as an
inventory contol device whereas I can scan product into a box and at the end
process have it not only report what was scanned into the box but remove it
from our inventory database as well. Also can anyone tell me if Access is
compatible for importing and exporting into a program called ACCPAC.
