Scheduling Email Delivery with Exchange Server

Hi, trying to set my email to pull emails only at 10a, 1p and 4p. The schedule is set and enabled, with no other schedules enabled but email seems to continue to flow in.

My backup option is to just work offline and set a calendar reminder to go fetch at those hours but I was hoping a schedule would work.

Is this just a limitation of an exchange account (or at least how our system is set up)?

I am not an expert on these matters, but I believe that Exchange accounts
stay connected all the time, i.e. they do not respect schedules in the same
way as POP or IMAP accounts and update periodically without the user
instructing Entourage to do so. I am not sure if there is a way around this
other than the one you have just suggested.

Click on the Entourage menu and choose Work Offline, then uncheck that when you want to download from your Exchange account.

Note that you can also use the Send Message Later command under the Message menu (shift-command-return) to send a message at the next connect or when hitting Send & Receive.

Michel's correct. Exchange accounts do not use the Send/Receive
Schedule. They are always live connections.
