screen clarity

I just got a flat screen Dell computer yesterday, we replace our computers
every 5 years or so. I have no-line bifocals. But that being said, my
friend is having the same problem with everything on the screen not being
crystal clear...a little fuzzy around the edges. I put the clear type on but
that cleared up the desktop icons but didn't affect anything else...e-mail,
folders, files etc. Does anyone have any suggestions...I've searched
everywhere and can't seem to come up with any solution. Thanks.

This is not controlled or set in Microsoft Office. This is a function
provided by the Operating system drivers for your video adapter card.
That said, please adjust your display settings to the "native"
resolution of your monitor. This would be listed on the documentation
that came with it. Please see Start, Help and Support, Display for more
information, OR post your question in one of the Operating System
groups, like WindowsXP for more assistance.

This group is for the discussion of Microsoft Office for Windows. If you are
having issues with your new computer, may I suggest you contact the
manufacturer instead of posting to a completely irrelevant Usenet group?
