Please reference the Save and Save As commands on the File menu.

That's right, blame the tool for your own oversight. Control+S every few
minutes would have saved you the time to type your message in all caps,
which also probably explains your inability to use a produce as it should
be, with autosave turned on and manually saving every few minutes.

Too bad you lost your lab, but don't blame the tool for the wielder's
incompetance.
