Search contact in public folder

Hi,
I work with outlook XP and Exchange.
When I create new message, I click on "TO:" button, I select public folder,
I click on find button at the bottom of the window to type name of the
contact. But I have message telling that I 'm not available to find the
contact... Because I don't have the right to do that etc... (but I'm the
proprietary of th folder).
When I was under outlook2000, I haven't this problem.
Any idea to help?

The message IS : IMPOSSIBLE TO FINISH THE SEARCH, impossible to open the
contact file folder, it's maybe deleted, etc...
I translate it from french...
