Search Contact List.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read my question.
I'm using Office XP's version of outlook. Recently, when i try to search the
contact list (personal not global) the computer just sits there with the
hourglass icon and doesn't show any of the contacts. When I stop the search a
few show up. It appears as if the index for the contact database is corrupted
or something. Will reinstalling Outlook solve the problem?
