My "search our site" page always worked but now it simpoly
returns me to the main page of my site though the url is
different. The search page is located at

http://www.kcflorist.com/01.admin.files/admin/search.site.htm

And when I do a search for roses I end up back on my main
page but with the below url displayed. Any ideas?

According to http://www.kcflorist.com/_vti_inf.html the FP 2002 SE are installed, but the search form is set to not use the Index
Catalog
- if on a Windows server have your host create a Index catalog and set the search form properties to use the Index catalog

Now does this sound right? I host with Interland and am now on a
Windows server. They said that due to vulnerabilities with the search
form the use of a search form on a site hosted on a Windows server is
no longer supported and is disabled?

Means that the Frontpage Extensions are not installed.

Is the FrontPage search feature available on the new Shared hosting
platform?

Description:

Is the FrontPage search feature available on the new Shared hosting
platform?

Solution:

FrontPage search is not available on the Shared hosting platform
because it requires Microsoft Index server, which has known security
vulnerabilities.

In 2002, the Code Red worm and its derivatives, Code Red v2 and Code
Red II, tore through the Internet, exploiting a hole in Microsoft
Index Server. Although the worms did not cause tremendous damage, IT
professionals scrambled to secure and update their systems; frequent
updates are still required for the Index Server. For the security of
our systems, we felt it best not to deploy the service.

We also do not support Microsoft SharePoint for this reason.

Then ask them to remove it completely. After that the standard FP search
will work. If they need the steps, they should consult the SERK where it
is documented.
