This still doesn't work. I have checked and re checked the setting betwwen
the dominent account and the next account and the second is either the same
ad or mimics the first.

Earthlink has no idea why, except that perhaps my name and address are not
properly recorded with entourage itself.

Do you have any ideas.

This is a serious problem because the second email is used by clients and I
cannot get their messages.

You need to give us more information in order to let us help.

1. what versions of OS & Entourage?
2. what kind of accounts are you trying to set up?
3. does the account get created at all? (is it listed under Tools >
Accounts)?
4. what symptoms are you getting when you send mail?
5. ....and when you receive mail?

It's possible that there is an extra space in the problematic account.
Delete the Account and create new. Do not copy/paste the info.

If you continue to have problems, install tcpflow. This will monitor your
traffic and you can see what is failing when Entourage talks to your server.

Download the Mac OS X version here:

<http://www2.entropy.ch/download/tcpflow-0.21.pkg.tar.gz> (Panther)

<http://www2.entropy.ch/download/tcpflow-0.20-jaguar.pkg.tar.gz> (Jaguar)

When you install, you do not see it.

To run the test, quit all other apps
that might be connecting to the internet like your browser, ftp client.

Copy/paste in this command in the Terminal:

sudo /usr/local/bin/tcpflow -i en0 -c

Now try to send the email and watch the traffic in the window of the
Terminal. You should see what is failing.

Here is an example with the
password xxxxx out.
