Hello,
I am not a network engineer but need to draft a policy
around transfering customer sensitive information via the
email server. I am not sure how the MAPI & LDAP work
together to make sure that all emails with attachments
sent within the organization are secure compared to those
sent outside the organization.
Is there something in the mail server configuration that I
should be aware in order to secure email attachments? Is
there any other way I can make sure that these attachments
are not vulnerable to the www?
Using a file-server on a shared-network drive seems like a
easy but tedious solution due to multiple layers of
permissions. We are on Windows 2000 O/S & Office. Thus,
there will be training issues if the power is given to the
user and onus of responsibility to maintain such integrity
with the network engineer. This looks like more work than
it resolves.
Thanks,
J. Joshi
