See whole doc on screen, but not in print previ and it wont print

I open a new doc, type the letter. Then I select Print Preview and see only
the top half of the page. When I go to Page Setup to see how margins , etc
are set up I make no changes, then push OK. It says "One or more margins are
set outside the printable area of the page. Choose the Fix Button to increase
the appropriate margins." I select Fix, and the bottom margin changes from
..30" to 4.2".

HELP!
