select only a few pics in pictures manager

I would like to:

open Win Explorer
go to a folder, highlight 5 pics in a folder of 1,300 and then right click and open ONLY those 5 pics in MSO Picture Manager.

Instead, MSO Pic Manager opens the entier folder! This is counterintuitive,
stupid and does not comply with MSO and other Windows paradigms.

Why is that?

Aren't you glad it doesn't open the folder 5 times?
