Selecting from internet services for outgoing mail

Alan D.

I guess my question could be asked a couple ways:

Is it possible to select which Internet mail service is used to send a
particular message (assuming one has multiple services defined in one's
profile)?

or

Is it possible to have Outlook not try to immediately send a note out so
that one can do a manual send/receive using a specified service?

I'm basically trying to have the correct return address show up on my
outgoing messsage without having to change profiles.

Thanks for any insights.

What version of Outlook are you using?

It's possible to select which account will be used to send a message. If
that account uses a specific ISP, then that's the service that will be used.

You can have whatever address you want defined in the account, no matter
what service is used to send the mail. For example, all my mail goes out
through my company's Exchange server, but I have several accounts whose
sender address is not that of my company. The recipients don't know the
mail was sent from my company's system unless they examine the SMTP headers.
For Outlook 2002/2003, click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing
e-mail accounts>Next. Select the account you want. Click Change. In the
"E-mail Address" field at the upper left, put whatever address you want the
rcipient to see. Click Finish.

When you compose the message, clict the Accounts button that should appear
to the right of the Send button (assuming the Outlook message editor - I
don't use Word for mail), and select the account with the correct address
you wish to use as the sender.
