selection runs together after pasting as unformatted text

Hi!

In Word 2000, when you copy a selection from a table cell
with multiple lines(e.g.

qwerty
dvorak
keyboard

it gets pasted as a single line (e.g.qwertydvorakkeyboard)

microsoft said that this was intentional to improve how
info is pasted in excel. word 97 behaves differently. But
i used another program that needs the copied part to be in
the same format as word 97. is there any workaround?
