self display presentation / interactive terminal

I am using PowerPoint XP ans I have a problem with a self display
presentation. I need to put a button who allowed me to start back the
presentation by clicking on it on every slide, but the presentation most also
run until ESC. I know there is an option for the until ESC part and I know
how to make the start back button, but both don't seem to work at the same
time. If I check the until ESC option, when I click on my start back button
he goes to the first page and stays frozen there. The presentation doesn't
continue.

If somebody can help me with this matter that would be apreciated
