SELF TOTALING BOX

ONE WHEN I OPENED A SPREAD SHEET AND STARTED ENTERING
CURRENCY DATA IN A COLUMN THERE WAS A BOX AT THE BOTTOM
OF THE SHEET THAT AUTOMATICALLY KEPT A RUNNING TOTAL OF
THE COLUMN.

I CANT FIND THAT BOX ANYMORE. HOW DO I GET IT BACK??

so .. please turn off your Caps Lock

Not sure if you are referring to the status bar,
but if you are, here's how to get it back:

Click Tools > Options > View > Check "Status bar" > OK

In the Status Bar, at the lower right of the Excel window, there's an AutoCalc display. However, you'll only see a Sum if you select two or more cells that contain numbers.

As you're typing, the Sum won't show, because only one cell is selected.
