I have installed Office 2003 Small Business Edition with Business Contact
Manager on a PC with Windows XP Home SP2. All Office 2003 updates/patches
have been applied as have all Business Contact Manager & Windows XP updates.
Outlook 2003 has been setup with a single email account.
When starting Outlook the dialup login dialog appears as required for login.
However, the send/receive operation completes before a response to the
dialup can be made. As a consequence, it reports an error. Once a connection
has been made, send/receive works fine.
Why is the send/receive task happening before the dialup connection can be
made?
Can it be stopped so that it only runs once a successful connection has been
made?
The interim workaround is to make the dialup connection before starting
Outlook. However, I would like to have this work as it is meant to. I have
seen the problem previously an have not been able to solve it.
Any help would be appreciated
