I noticed there are many unwanted names in To sender's list. Even those name
exists to whome i sent mail an year ago. They are not in contacts but appear
when i type the email id of any person (as an auto complete list).

Can any one tell how do i clear such a list.

To delete a single entry, use your arrow keys to highlight it and press
Delete. To clear the entire autocompletion cache, close Outlook and rename
or delete the file

%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook\profilename.NK2

Since %AppData% (actually C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Application
Data) is a hidden folder, you can see its contents by opening Windows
Explorer and entering

%AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook

in the Address bar and clicking Go. There is also a commercial tool that
will allow you greater control of the contents of that file.

Thanks Brian,

I have been trying to delete over 500 addresses in my Auto Complete List for
days now.
Emailed Microsoft who told me how to do it 1 at a time ~ I knew there was an
easier way .

Followed your instructions to the letter and am a very happy camper ~ quick
and easy. No fuss ~ I should come here first for all my questions ~ better
service and more time efficent.

Anyway thanks again

The .NK2 file is fine and dandy for Outlook 2003 but what about for Outlook
2007 on Windows Vista? Where is the file located for that one? I can't find a
*.nk2 file anywhwhere.

Same place: %AppData%\Microsoft\Outlook (%AppData% points to a different
folder on Vista, but it's still the appropriate environment variable).
