sending big e- mail crashes the machine

I decided to send some old e-mails to another machine, so
I highlighted the entire inbox and sent them, but the
mail is stuck in the outbox and keeps crashing OE, but I
cut off its ablity to use the internet but it still
crashes when I try yo delete the e-mail, is there a way
of getting rid of the e-mail without reinstalling OE and
losing all the other e-mails I need
