Sending email with attachments

I have a MacBook (less than a month old), 2 GHz Intel Core Duo, 1 GB
DDR2 SDRAM. I am using Microsoft Entourage 11.2.4

I send an inter-office email with two photo attachments (photos are
about 2.0-3.0 mb a piece) and it took about 15-20 minutes to send it.
however, when the email is returned, from the other person's computer,
it is sent quickly to me, but takes awhile to receive.

The same is done when I do this with a yahoo account.

Any suggestions?
