sending mail, nothing in Otbox

Office 2003 Pro
Internet mail, 2 pop3 accounts.

When send/recieve, details say "sending massage 1 of 1"
then I get an error message (0x80042109) Outlook is
unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server).

However there is no mail in the Outbox. The account
causing the error message is using a sever that blocks
port 25 making it not abe to send mail. I would like to
clear this phantom email out of the send que. I have been
able to correct this by sending mail from another account
but, would like info on what is going on here.

The outgoing message is probably a read-receipt, which won't show up in the
outbox. Try pointing the outgoing server for the account on which this is
occurring to the server for your other account (which I assume *can* send
mail)..
