Hello.
I did a quick search and a manual look through the past month and did
not find the answer to this question. If its already there, then
please just point me to it.
I'm using Entourage 2004 and my problem is that when I send mails, 90%
of the time the mail to one of my accounts won't leave. it seems to
get hung up on the exit and then one of several messages appears
stating that Entourage does not recognize the authentication methods
for that account (message reads: "Authentication failed because
Entourage doesn't support any of the available authentication
methods.").
However, in most cases, if I go into the tools, then to the accounts
window, click on the offending account (POP), then to the advanced send
window, I can click on the "override SMPT port" and the mail generally
goes out.
My question(s) is/are, 1) why is this problem continuing if I have
found the answer by telling the system to override the SMPT port? 2)
Am I correcting the problem or is the problem fixing itself and i am
clueless?
Also, the system seems to have NO problems with receiving mail from
this account and does so automatically as per the scheduled retreivals.
HELP!
Thanks.
