Sending messages on Entourage

My Entourage stopped sending emails this week. It had been working for a couple years and now it seems to sit and spin when trying to connect to smtp.aol.com. So messages just sit in the Outbox and do not go. I am receiving emails OK

Do you eventually get an error messasge? Look in the lower-right corner for
an exclamation point.

With smtp.aol.com make sure you're using port 587 with authentication turned
on and secure connection (SSL) turned off.
