Is there any way to force Outlook to send SMTP?

Describe the problem and you may get an answer. Outlook sends SMTP messages
just fine.

Brian.Tillman is the name, smiths-aerospace.com is the domain.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

In an MS Exchange environment (2000 but the Exchange
version isn't relevant), I want to be able to intercept
outgoing mail from an Outlook client (2003) at the SMTP
transport level for archival purposes, and then either
send the message to the Internet (for outbound) or to an
Exchange server (for internal). OL2003 appears to only
give me an all or nothing option - either I use only an
SMTP server or an Exchange server, for all incoming and
outgoing mail.
