Separate e-mails to distribution list

Does anyone know if it is possible to send an e-mail to a
distribution list with each recipient appearing to get and
individual e-mail (vs. the recipient seeing 45 addresses
in the "To" field)?

No, not with a DL.
That would require a mail merge to electronic mail.

yes you can. put your DL in the BCC section instead of To section
