separate paging for individual sections

I have a document containing a number of family groups.
I would like the paging to be:
100 - 199 for first group
200 - 299 for second group, etc.

In the past I've been able to do this but lately not.
Using word 2000 ver 9.0.2720

In what way are you unable to do it?

I was putting a page break (next page) between the groups
and I couldn't get it to work but since then I have been
using section breaks (next page) and I believe its
working. Am I correct in this assumption?

Yes, a section break is required to restart page numbering.
