Separating Accounts

Using ENT 2004 for MAC, ver. 11.2.1

I have 2 accounts set up

I use 1 to send direct email from me, I use the 2 for sending daily
information to a list of recipients

When sending direct email from me I designate 1 as the default, when
sending to the list I designate 2 as the default

I always receive email from accounts 1 & 2 regardless of the
designated default

Is there anyway to halt email reception from either 1 or 2 at my will?
I only want to receive from 2 (account used for sending to the list)
once a day, not continually.

Also, is there anyway to open an account in a completely different
Entourage screen, so that the two accounts are completely separate?
I'd like to do this without having to create a second user account on
the desktop.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to update Entourage. First update with the combo updater 11.3.3
then update 11.3.4. Without these updates you will not get the Sync Services
features or improvements that have been added. 11.3.3 updated the Junk Mail
Filter.

I'm not sure I understand your problem correctly, so bear with me as I try
to offer what I think you want...

First, a default account is just that...default....it's the account that is
used when you select to send an email. When you want to send from a
different account you select another account from the popup. This isn't a
default account it's just the sending account.

You can change the header on account 1 so that the reply to goes to account
2. As to receiving once a day I'm not sure exactly what you want with this.
Are you wanting to download once a day. If yes, then set a schedule. If it's
not this, then you need to send more details.

Also, is there anyway to open an account in a completely different
Entourage screen, so that the two accounts are completely separate?

Sorry but this isn't clear to me. You can separate them into two Entourage
Identities. This would require you to Switch Identities to view mail but
that seems awkard to me. More details on what you are trying to achieve
would help.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If I update, will I lose information stored in the address book, saved
emails etc...?

Updates are not supposed to touch the data stored in your Microsoft User
Data folder, but with all things like updates unexpected problems can
happen. To be doubly safe, duplicate your Microsoft User Data folder and
stuff it.

Your MUD folder is located in your User's Document folder.
