Server contacts vs. personal contacts

When I go to send an email to a contact that I have created under my profile
and not a contact listed in the global address I would do the following:

'New message'--> Click 'To'--> Under the title 'Show Names from the:' I
could choose my contacts...

The option is no longer there.

The option to select which folder to display first is in the Address Book
itself > Tools > Options...

the problem is that my personal contacts are not listed at all and I need to
add them.

Then you should have stated your problem and included your Outlook version
so someone could help you.

Your Contacts folder is no longer enabled to show in the Address Book.
RIght-click Contacts, choose Properties, select the Outlook Address Book
tab, and check the box labeled "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book".
