set include name with variable

I have set up my web page with include statements in order to bring in
content from other sources ... I want to be able to set the include page
url's/names from a value in a select box (pulldown).

I think the object is: pageURL=documentform.formname.option.value , but the
include statement doesnt seem to be getting the value.

Any help/examples is appreciated.

SSI are rendered on the server before you see it in the browser

So then, shouldn't a scripting language, like javascript, allow this
functionality? If so, any javascript examples of this are appreciated.
