setting limit on count function?

I am working on a seating chart for a theatre. In cells
representing the seats I have the formula "=COUNTIF
($AA$5:$AA$161,"F11")" which just counts how many times a
seat has been assigned. I would like to have this count
limited to 1, for obvious reasons. What do I need to do?

what do you mean with 'set a limit'? if you want to prevent duplicate
