Setting the Order of Shapes

R

Rich

I am setting up a presentation which has a series of check boxes on one side
of the page. Selecting and unselecting the checkboxes makes images disappear
from the screen. It all works well except when I need to edit the document.
Image order is very important and I need some form of tool or macro which
will ensure that each image on each slide (I have about 40-50, which each
contain the same named images) are in exactly the same order (e.g. Table_1 is
always on the top, Image_2 is next, Image_3 next and so on...)

I am using PowerPoint 2000.

I know I can buy tools, but my work is too tight to pay! Any ideas?

I think "select multiple" shows the Z-order of objects. The closer to the
front of the slide the object is, the lower it is in the list in the Select
Multiple dialog. For info on Select Multiple, see
http://www.techsmith.com/community/blogcomments.asp?thread=38

Another, better, option is the RnR PPT2HTML add-in. It has an accessibility
assistant that will help you reorder the items on your slides.
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptools/ppt2html/FAQ00009.htm If all you need is
this accessiblity assistant, you can download and install the PPT2HTML
demo -- you won't have to buy the unlock key for it or anything.

Echo,

I have already loded the pptools add-in, but the shape sorter only ships
with the pptools plus package and that costs money! The multiple selector
does tell me the order of the shapes, so is not that bad, but still a little
tricky to re-order.

Any other ideas?

Please reread my original suggestion. You want RnR's PPT2HTML, not Starter
Set Plus. And you only need the demo version of PPT2HTML.

Echo,

I was actually in the process of penning a response when I read your new
post! It was going to read..."Apologies, I found what I was looking for in
the demo version. Please ignore my previous post."

Guess you beat me to it!! thanks for your help...the tool is great!
