Setting up a password prior to opening?

How can I setup a required password for entourage 2004 prior to it being
opened?

You can't. If you're in Entourage 2004, launch it holding down Shift key,
which will open it without running any schedules (including your Send &
Receive schedule which would be trying to connect to your account). In
Entourage X, you'd have to remove preferences instead:
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Entourage Preferences (10) and Entourage
Settings files.

That will get it open without problem, then go to Tools/Accounts/that
account/Edit and make your changes. Then Tools/Schedules/Send & Receive All,
to turn it back on.

not sure if i understand what you just stated. what does that have to do
with wanting to setup a password when opening the program?
