Chris did you get a reponse on this? I have been trying to get an
answer from MSFT since August, without having to pay an additional
$250 in support charges.

Entourage relies on the IMAP server in Exchange to send mail, not MAPI. Your
IT guru will need to activate IMAP on the exchange server for you to
read/send mail. Once IMAP is activated, you just need the IP address of the
server itself.

The Entourage account on Exchange is actually an IMAP account. It needs
somewhere to go to in order to send mail from your client. If you have a
regular smtp server somewhere, you could try using that. Otherwise, you have
to have the SMTP services running on the Exchange server, and give its
address in that field in the Entourage config.

Our IT-department are not willing to use SMTP or IMAP.
So this is not better than the older on. Only that it goes under X.
