Setting up SSL for POP and SMTP

When I attempt to secure my mail connections using SSL for either POP
or SMTP, I receive error message 2004 or 2995 repsectively. I've
installed my SSL mail servers public key certificate in the key chain.

2004 says: Security failure. Data decryption error.

2995 says: Security failure. Personal Certificate required.

The SSL connections work fine under MS Outlook for XP. Is this just
Microsoft not liking the Mac? Or, am I configuring something wrong?

I've read all of the help pages and attepted to send a message to MS
support without reply. This is a bit of my last resort. Has anybody
else experienced this problem? If so, how did you fix it...?

Thanks.

No, it's just an Entourage bug. Big surprise. It isn't handling the SMTP
STARTTLS interaction correctly, and possibly also screwing up the SASL
AUTH stuff. I've spent way too much time researching this --- and given
that it's a M$ bug, I hold out little hope of getting a solution.

see http://www.ogre.com/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=4 for some more
info.
