shading gnatt bars according to a defined characteristic

I am wondering if their is any way to set the pattern / colour etc of a gnatt
bar based on a characteristic you give it. For instance if I made a column
with either yes or no in it, could I get the gnatt bars to automatically
visually distguish, even if they were in separate sub groups?

Thankyou for the reply - it has helped a lot!! I have been able to
distinguish by colours and patterns as I required, but the characteristics of
the bar don't remain on the rolled up summary bar when I roll up the tasks -
can I make the distinction remain when rolled up?
