Shadow on Type

I have shadow on some type and can't get it off. I format font but the
shadow is unclicked and only Regualr Arial Black typeface is being used.
What am I missing? thanks

check the shadow at the shadow toolbar to see if they are off.
If you can't find the shadow setting, go to View > Toolbars > Customize>
Shadow Settings.
