Shape names in timeline using PPTTools Starter set plus

Hello all

I'm using starter set plus to rename things so I can see what's going on in
the timeline with all my custom animations (ppt 2003) and it's all good
except for some autoshapes' names don't 'stick'. I have renamed a
parallelogram to 'paper 1' (there will be lots of bits of paper flying about)
and it still apears as 'parallelogram 142' in the custom animation pane. Any
ideas? I've checked the ppttools site and can't see anything to say it won't
work for autoshapes...

Morning Lucy (it is here anyway)

The "names" in the custom animation pane reflect the z order in the slide
and will change if you "send backwards / forwards"

If you add the "select multiple objects" tool to a toolbar this will show
the real name.

Did that answer the question / help?

Hey John

It's evening here. I wish it was morning then I might have some chance of
getting this done today :)

So how come it works on some stuff? It works on the little stick people I
made and then grouped... (I have tried grouping the letters, but to no avail).

I have that invaluable 'select multiple objects' button turned on - no idea
why MS decided not to put it on as a standard button. Anyway. I was using
the 'web' tab of format object to give stuff a name and thought the ppttools
thingo would be 'better'. It is helping as making things invisible then
re-visible is going to be a big help (yay for it keeping animations!).

Back to the grindstone...

0o0o0 that kind of helps - now it says parallelogram 153:7 (I added '7' as
text) but only when I hover the mouse over. Might not use that this time but
that could well help in the future.

You're a star!

Sorry John but that doesn't help - it shows 'Parellelo...' however wide the
pane. Unless I'm being dim which is a distinct possibility (did I mention
I'm blonde?).

OK it makes no difference as I have the advanced timeline turned on - when I
turn it off I can see the full name.

Thanks!
