Sharing Address Book Entries Between Entourage Identities

In Outlook Express (for Windows) there is a feature that allows email
identities to share contacts from the Address Book. I just switched to
OS X on a PowerBook (I love it)
but I've been unable to determine whether Entourage has the same
feature. If there is such a capability, how do I set it up?

Entourage doesn't have "email identities" by that name. it does have
"identities" - which are entirely separate databases from each other,
usually used only by different family members using the same copy of
Entourage, say, or else if you need to keep business stuff, including
Address Book and Calendar, entirely separate from personal stuff. It sounds
like you know about these.

But it sounds to me as if what you want is simply different email
_accounts_. That's simple to set up in a single identity. Just go to
Tools/Accounts/Mail and click New. Set up the other email account as
assigned to you by your ISP, or company, or mac.com, or whatever) there,
making sure you know the correct settings for mail (POP or IMAP) and SMTP
servers. You can set up as many email accounts as you wish.

Please "Reply To Newsgroup" to reply to this message. Emails will be
ignored.

PLEASE always state which version of Entourage you are using - 2001 or X.
It's often impossible to answer your questions otherwise.

Thanks for your reply & coaching around the version (in this case, X).
Our ISP allows us to create up to 6 email identities. Thus far we're
using two, which in the past have tended to share contacts, and as I
noted above, from what OE calls a shared contacts list. It looks to me
that I need to approach the situation differently in Entourage X as
you've mapped out in your reply.
