Shortcut key will not run macro but worked before

Thomas H Lindber

An assigned shortcut key does all in a sudden cease working.

I have a macro that does a simple but tedious job.
The macro is stored in the document template, the .DOT file
The shortcut key, in my case 'Alt-C' works in a new document as expected,
the macro runs.
Suddenly the Alt-C combination ceases working, the assignment is still OK in
Tools-Customize-Keyboard:Macro for the relevant doc.
The shortcut is _not_ present in normal.dot.
The used document template is not opened.

Any ideas, somebody????

If I understand you correctly, you have the macro stored in the document
template rather than in Normal.dot, so this macro will work only in
documents based on the specific template. If the macro runs in a new
document based on this template but not in an existing document, perhaps it
was created before the macro was added to the template? This should not make
any difference, but what happens if you reattach the document template?
