Show Standard and Formatting toolbars by default

Field5555

hi all,

I am praparing a deployment of Office 2003 for 400 users. I'd like to
set the value "Show Standard and Formatting toolbars on two rows" as a
default setting in Word. Does anyone know how to force this setting on,
at least initially for all users? There is nothing in Group policy or
in VBA that I can find.

Thanks!

Have you looked at the Office Resource Kit for your version of Office? It has several scenarios for customizing a network installation.

Milly,

Thanks for the tip, and yes, I have looked. This setting is not even
visible in the object model as near as I can tell. The best I've been
able to come up with is an AutoExec() macro to directly manipulate the
toolbars.

Thanks!
