Good day,

I am trying to get my signature inserted automatically on reply emails. I got it to insert but a t the end of the whole email chain not just after my reply. How can I get this changed. Thanks

This indeed is a joke - Entourage 2008 can still not put signatures where they belong to (right behind the reply). Michel's link above will lead you to an outdated script that works like a wizard (four steps) of which on is the placement of the signature. However, the process makes it even longer, than just simply copy/pasting the signature in the mail message.

The script to reply on top, is set once with your preferences of heading.
Then to use, just apply a shortcut for easy use or select in the Script Menu
folder.

Entourage preferences can place the sig after the reply. Take a deep breath
and go back over the instructions.

Sorry, but Ms. Ross' comments are not clear to me (I agree that this should just not be something we need to deal with in the first place though...)

Are you saying we need to use the script to get Entourage to function correctly (my sense of correct) or is there a preference that makes this happen? If so, where? Read what "instructions"?

You do not have to use a script. The script allows you to toggle between
replying below and replying on top.

Set your preference for how you like to reply and forget the script if you
think it's too much trouble.

Why is top posting not always a good idea? This is best explained by this
example:
====================================================

Because it reverses the logical flow of conversation.
Why is top posting frowned upon?

The answer is very straight forward.

While in Entourage:

1. Go to the Entourage program menu.
2. Select Preferences
3. Select the Reply & Forward sub-section under the Mail & News Preferences
section in the left nav bar of the preferences window.
4. Under "Mail Attribution" select the third option (Place reply at top of
message and include From, Date, To, and Subject lines from original message.

It worked for me.

I was struggling with this also and Neil's approach worked for me also. I had not tried it before because this option did not mention signature placement.

thank you, Neil!

Yep, after downloading scripts and trying to understand the convoluted suggestions here, Neil's steps made perfect sense.

Many thanks!
