Signature Problems

I have set up a signature, following the step-by-step
instruction in Outlook help, but the signature does not
appear in my emails. Yes, I did click <apply> and close
before quitting the setting up

What version of Outlook?
Doesn't it work for Plain Text messages or Html or both?
