Signature

Hi gang!

Quick question on creating a signature in Entourage 11.2.5 in Tiger.

If I want to place an image within my signature, say my company logo, does
Entourage prefer jpegs or gifs?

The reason I ask, is because when I send my signature to a PC user using
Outlook, my logo on their PC shows up as empty with a small box with an X in
it. I guess to say that the image wasn't able to display for some reason. On
all Mac's running Entourage and Apple Mail for that matter, it looks fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Entourage doesn't care - you could even use PNG, PICT or any one of about a
dozen formats and Entourage would work OK.

The issue appears to be with your recipient's client, although I would have
expected JPG & GIF to work well enough.

Sorry to jump in here, but is there a way of using the output of something
like the "fortune" program to generate random signatures ?

Or is there a way of using a text file containing quotes as signatures ?

I don't know about random signature programs, but Entourage has a built.in
random signature function it. If you create a signature, you can tick the
Random checkbox next to it in the signature list, and if you then go to
Tools>Accounts, select your account and switch to the Options tab, you can
instruct Entourage to pick one of these random signatures automatically for
messages sent from that account. For more information, look up "random
signature" in Entourage's help.

Thanks Michael - I found that, but it means that I have to enter all my
..sig's manually, rather than import them....

Time to learn advanced AppleScript, methinks !
