Signatures will not show up. Have deleted and re entered data but still no
luck. Have also had issue where all Rules stopped working. Have deleted all
rules after a week of troubleshootong this morning but too soon to tell if
they are operable. Could this be some sort of corrupt file?
Let's eliminate database corruption first. Open Entourage and select to
Switch Identity under Entourage in the menu bar. Select to create a new
Identity. Now you have a brand new Identity to test the problem. Enter a few
sigs. Do they work? If yes, then try rebuilding your current Identity to see
if that fixes the problem.
Be sure to duplicate it first for safe keeping. Entourage will create a
backup during the rebuild, but on rare occasions this goes bad and you'll
end up with a mess. I'm of the belief 'better safe than sorry'.
Now to your rules that seemed to stop working. We need more details. Are
your messages just going to the wrong folder? If that's the case and you
have recently done a rebuild, check the destination folder for all of your
rules. Sometimes during a rebuild the folder destination in a rule is
changed.
Another cause of rules not working is you accidentally created a Mailing
List Manager (MLM) rule that is acting on your messages. It's very easy to
set up a MLM rule by accident, when you are marking a message as 'not junk'.
The wording of that dialog is ambiguous to say the least. Check if there is
an MLM entry (look for MLM entries under the tools menu) with the incorrect
destination folder as the target folder. Mailing List Manager rules run
before your other rules.
There are 3 different kind of rules in Entourage:
Mailing List Manager (MLM)
Junk Mail Filter
Rules (custom rules you create)
They run in the order listed above. The custom rules also run in the order
they are listed. (top runs first)
Use the MLM for all lists. Use rules for the remainder. Try to use
categories instead of individual addresses when possible. When a new address
is added to a contact in the Address Book then it will automatically be
acted on by the rule if you use categories in your rules. See example:

1) POP Rules act on a message ONLY when it first arrives in the Inbox (On My
Computer), NOT when it arrives in any other folder. Once it's moved to
another folder it won't be seen by rules.
2) IMAP Rules are meant to act on a message ONLY when it first arrives in
the IMAP INBOX, not when moved to another IMAP folder.
3) Exchange Rules act on a message ONLY when it first arrives in the
Exchange Inbox.
