Simple delete e-mail question

OK,

So I have just moved from a PC to a Macbook and getting used to Entourage. I'm adjusting fine EXCEPT that when I delete an e-mail in Entourage the cursor moves UP instead of DOWN. I know, dumb question but I'd like to set it up so delte works the same way as Outlook i.e. scrolls down to the next message in the in-box (like a real in-box!)

Any hints?

You can resort the list by clicking on the little triangle at the top of the
list. Oldest at top vs newest at top.

A lot depends on the view you are using. There are shortcuts that go to the
next unread message. In 3 pane view you can just use the space bar to go to
the next message. In preferences you can select how long before a message is
marked as read.

Display the previous message ⌘+[

Display the next message ⌘+]

I would like to see the newest at the top, review (and delete) and automatically scroll down to the next item in my inbox (wherever I am in my inbox) when I click delete.

Other than displaying oldest (first) is there anyway to accomplish through the simple action of delete <next>? (single click or keystroke??)

Set your custom arrangement when in 3 pane view.

Lists: Arrange by

Select to "Edit Custom Arrangements" and create the view you want.

Hello. I've also just switched to Macs from PCs. I also want the cursor to go down when I delete a message. I don't see an option for this in the custom arrangement? Am I misunderstanding the answer? I already have my messages sorted from newest to oldest in the 3 pane view. I usually have several hundred e-mails in my inbox so I want the newest at the top. I read down the page and would like the cursor to move with my eyes. Your help is appreciated.

I noticed when the Inbox is sorted based on "From," the cursor moves down the page when I delete, but when it is sorted based on "Sent" or "Received" the cursor moves up the page when I delete a message. I'd like to be able to sort it based on "Sent" or "Received" and have the cursor move down the page with the most recent e-mails at the top of the page. Thanks.

Try using these keyboard shortcuts documented in Entourage help:

OPTION+COMMAND (Apple)+[ Delete the current message and display the
previous message.

OPTION+Command (Apple)+] Delete the current message and display the next
message.

CTRL+OPTION+[ Delete the current message and display the previous unread
message.

====
