This seems like a simple question (and should have a simple answer).
Is it possible to stop Entourage from displaying a message whenever I
highlight the e-mail subject or sender? For example, whenever I
highlight a message in my Inbox, the full e-mail message displays on
the bottom half. Is it possible for me to stop this and have the
message display only if I double-click on it instead?

I've looked everywhere in the preferences, and I've found nothing.

View menu, uncheck the preview pane.
