Size of Collaboration Status-Request Screen

Is there a way for increase the size of the Collaboration
form so that more of the horizontal scrollable portion is
visible?

I do know -- just like in excel -- that you ae able to
adjust the size of the columns; but I don't think the
final answer is in that capability. Especially since the
task-name is filling up the hoizontal on the 1st screen.
In that case, there is no place to put the cursor so as to
resize the column.

Unfortunately, I have several people balking at using this
reporting facility until they can see more infomation at
once.

Thanks ...

Earl:

You need to ask this question in Project Server's language. Please translate
"collaboration form." You know that you can collapse the side navigation on
every screen.

Gary,

Concerning your request for more info.

This is not MSP Server, but rather ...

Standard Project 2002 Professional
"E-mail only" option for Collaboration
.MTM file sent by MS-Project
"Request Project Information" form/screen

I'm specifically refering to the area where the
requestee is expected to enter their hours for each task
sent to them by "Collaborate / Request Progress
Information".

More specifically, I'm refering to sub-form that has the
heading:
"Report period of <Proj-Name>: <date> to <date>"

What I really want to do is modify the default size of
the whole form (which is currently somewhere around
427x391 pixels) such that there is minimal (or no)
scrolling needed.

I really do have a near rebellion on my hands because of
Ease-of-Use issues, any help would be very welcome.

Thanks ... Earl

We have addressed the minimal scrolling issue through user training, given
the limitations on customizing the view. Since we have implemented the
"Hours of work done per day or per week" option for all of our projects,
Remaining Work is a key value in the left hand side of the window along with
the seven days and the total on the right side. All the remaining columns
are support and informational only.

We have instructed our users to drag the window split to the right to expose
more columns on the left side (there are individual horizonatal scroll bars
for each side, as well). We then tell them to drag Remaining Work column to
the left, just to the right of the task name. We have also instructed them
to drag Work, Actual Work and % Work Complete to the right of Remaining
Work. With some careful column resizing, including the column with project
and task names and collapsing the left pane, they are able to see the
following fields; Task Name, Remaining Work, Work, Actual Work, and % Work
Completed on the left side and all seven days with the total on the right
side.

We have followed a practice of putting the most important identifying
information concerning the project and task at the beginning of the project
and task descriptions so that truncating the information in this column has
a minimal effect on the information conveyed.

To reduce vertical scrolling, we have instructed them to set their View
Options to show just Outline Level 1 which defaults to a single line per
project. They can expand specific projects individually to enter their
time.

Earl:

Part of the problem you're experiencing is that this particular news group
is specifically for people using Project Pro with Project Server. Although
you may have Project Pro, you're not using any of the Pro features. You need
to run wgsetup on every client computer to collaborate this way.

I received the email and I believe that what you are looking for is a way to
change your screen resolution to see more information, albeit, smaller.

This is done by right clicking on an empty area of the Windows desktop,
select Properties, select the Settings tab and change the screen resolution.
This can vary by Windows version.

You will be constrained by the limits of your video card and the size of
your monitor.

Greg,

Don't mean to be a PITA here; and you answer was good --
but it was obviously aimed at people who are doing Web-
access/Enterprise. But that's not us.

I'm in need for an answer relative to Stand Alone MS-
Project Pro.

The form delivered by Outlook is very different (being
the predecessor of what is now web reporting timecard).

I've sent you a seperate e-mail with a screen capture
of the form in question (picture's worth a 1,000 words).
And, still, I need to know how increase the size of the
display. I learned how to do so about 7 years ago, but I
just do not remember how to do so now ...

Thanks .. Earl
